Another hold out from my old army who actually sees action, not that I really enjoy 5th edition. The pirate hats are heated and bent circles of plastic card.
Mostly the ork codex. It is a 4.5 edition codex rather than a true 5th edition codex like guard, wolves, and bugs. There are so many cognitive disconnects and things that need to be addressed (at minimum in a FAQ), I don't know where to begin.
I'm tired of having the same arguments, with the same people, every single game.
I also don't find the limited number of builds required to be competitive to be fun to play. 45 lootas? No thank you. Never mind I dislike the over-the-shoulder weapon look. Mass foot troops? I just spent 30 minutes setting up all my guys to sweep a third off after the first turn. Never mind having to paint and transport all that stuff. 15 deathcopters? That's actually oddly fun and I run them with megablasters to put the fear into termi players
That's a good point. I know what you mean about the competitive list limitations as well. My marines are fine but the Tau are pretty restricted in what works well and what they can use.
I don't like having to have the same rules arguments with people as well. It gets tiring and annoying. The best advice I could give is to find less competitive players who don't mind giving you some leeway on the rules inconsistencies.
Great work there.
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to your taste in 5th edition by the way?
